My husband prefers the more masculine bag made from traditional Ikat fabric, which is even more durable.

We apologize that so many of our bags are currently sold out. Our tailor has recently passed and we are working to find someone else with his skills and capabilities. We work with cottage industries and individual artisans and practice fair and ethical trading practices. We don’t mass manufacture in China. So manufacturing is always a challenge. We hope to find someone soon and look forward to having new stock soon.
The eye pillow gift boxes to the rice are made from sustainable rice paper. With your custom wholesale order (quantities apply) we can manufacture these for you to package your eye pillows.
Product Details and Information: Our yoga mat bags are top loading, as these are the ones we prefer. Each has a drawstring closure. Our standard bag has one zippered pocket for your eye bag, change, keys, glasses, or other personal belongings.
Our Back Pack style yoga mat bags shown to the right are also top loading and have two pockets. The larger pocket has a hidden zipper. The small one closes with velcro. Our yoga mat bags are lined with satin instead of cotton for ease in sliding your mat in, and out. (These are currently sold out.) As an added value, each yoga mat tote bag comes with its own matching refillable aromatherapy eye pillow.
Perfect for relaxing the tiny muscles around the eyes, use your eye pillow nightly (like me), during Yoga Savasana (final relaxation), or anytime. One side of the eye pillow is the same fabric as the yoga mat tote bags. The other side of the aromatherapy eye pillow is a smooth satin material. Eye pillows and bags are double lined, and have a hidden zipper so that you may be refill with your favorite aromatherapy essence (we use lavender essential oil). Choose designs that match our yoga mat tote bags. Or, from one of the designs just above the Yoga Mat Bag product description.
How To Fold Your Yoga Mat: There’s a knack for folding your mat… the best way to fold your mat is by first folding it in half. Take the clean side that your body has been using and fold it end to end. Then begin rolling. Now, instead of both sides of the mat being rolled together, the side you use and the back side that has been on the floor, you are rolling clean side to clean side. No only is your mat easier to roll, it now fits nicely into any yoga mat bag carrier. Plus, your mat is more clean and sanitary. Use the same method if you have two mats, or a mat and a rug. Put them on top of each other, fold in half then begin rolling.
Yoga Mat Bag makes transporting your yoga mat and other yoga items much easier. Perfect for traveling, a yoga mat bag helps keep your yoga things organized, while keeping your mat clean, and protected. We travel six months of the year throughout Asia. This was our inspiration for our yoga mat bags as we went from plane, to train, to bus, yoga classes and training in most cases, in less than ideal circumstances.
Why We Choose these Fabrics: We like to use fabrics like Chinese Silk, Balinese Ikat, Indian Sari, and other exotic fabrics that we love. And that we see throughout our six month a year travels to the far east. Being yoga teachers ourselves, and spending lots of time on the road, we have designed our bags to be functional, eye catching, and as durable as each fabric allows. Each mat bag carrier is beautiful and unique. And encompasses our philosophy on the art of living beautifully.
What’s Behind the Dragonly and Butterfly motifs: In your yoga practice you come face to face each moment with exactly who you are. How you respond, and react to the limitations of your physical body teaches you a lot about your subconscious mind, your approach to challenges, your ego, beliefs, etc. Once you understand what makes you tick, you can set about letting go of, and surrendering those things that no longer serve you.
When we begin embracing instead of resisting these opportunities for transformation, we are on our path. Our journey to be what we were truly meant to be. With no limitations that our mind and beliefs have imposed. No restrictions. Just pure, flowing potentiality.
When I think of transformation I think of a butterfly. Can one truly understand what level of trust a caterpillar must have to totally surrender everything that it knows and believes, to allow itself to completely dissolve into a void that will then take on another shape, that is of a higher awareness.
Something in the caterpillar knows that it is suppose to fly, however it has lived it’s life crawling and eating leaves. It learned how to do these things, and these things sustained it’s life. Imagine the trust that it must have to let go of the processes that sustained it’s life. What would you be willing to give up if you could exchange it for higher awareness of the Self?
Isn’t this what we are faced with on a daily basis. We must let go of what we know, our beliefs and attachments, in order to grow. Many times it is our old beliefs about who we are, and how we fit into this multi-dimensional universe. Our beliefs often become our security blankets and then stagnate our growth.
We think we have it all figured out, we get comfortable with this or that belief, and then we stop growing because our minds close to new possibilities. When presented with something new it is often the fear of letting go of that old belief that will cause us to reject the new opportunity for growth.
Everyday, every interaction, and experience is an opportunity for amazing growth. We must learn to embrace the endless possibilities without fear, knowing and trusting that this shift in consciousness is bringing us into total integration with the Universe.
It is difficult to let go of everything that you know. We spend years accumulating knowledge. We feel accomplished. We have learned. Then one day we wake up and realize we must let go of all this accumulated knowledge, and our beliefs. But how! Our beliefs are like friends, and family to us. Yet, all of this is not our spiritual evolution.
Our soul knows that there is something more beyond that realm, and that if we let go of our attachment to them we can continue on our journey. While scary, letting go is liberating, and a freedom is experienced like nothing you can imagine unless you have been there. New landscapes appear, and you realize that you did not lose anything, just integrated each layer into wholeness.
In this physical dimension we are all here in the flesh. We must take care of it. But not at the expense of our spirit, which cries out daily to be heard, and fed. Being human we all have ego. And other issues, too. But in our spiritual world we have wings. We can transcend our physical body. Transcend our beliefs. Transcend our Ego, and other limitations. Flying is a glorious journey, as you travel to another spectrum, and experience yourself at different levels of consciousness. Spread your wings and fly!
Dragonfly symbolism crosses and combines with that of the butterfly and change. The dragonfly symbolizes going past self-created illusions that limit our growing and changing. Dragonflies are a symbol of the sense of self that comes with maturity. They are fantastic flyers, darting like light, twisting, turning, changing direction, even going backwards as the need arises.
They are inhabitants of two realms – starting with water, and moving to the air with maturity, but staying close to water. Some people who have the dragonfly as their totem have had emotional and passionate early years, but as they get older they achieve balance with mental clarity and control. They gain an expression of the emotional and mental together.
Dragonflies are old and adaptive insects, and are most powerful in the summer under the effects of warmth and sunlight. Their colors are a result of reflecting and refracting the power of light. As a result, they are associated with color magic, illusion in causing others only to see what you wish, and other mysticism. Often represented in Japanese paintings, they represent new light and joy.
To some Native Americans they are the souls of the dead. Fairy stories say that they used to be real dragons. Dragonflies are reminders that we are light and can reflect the light in powerful ways if we choose to do so. “Let there be light” is the divine prompting to use the creative imagination as a force within your life. They help you to see through your illusions and allow your own light to shine in a new vision.
