Yoga is a life journey and we continue to be YogaBound – Yoga for Life.
Who: Deb Bobier, 500 E-RYT Yoga Teacher, Life Coach & Founder of YogaBound.com is the primary instructor.
What: Join us in the tropics of Bali in 2013 for our 200 hour Yoga Alliance accredited Yoga Teacher Training Program. Our trainings draw on the ancient wisdom of Ashtanga, Iyengar, Yin, Yang, Power, Vinyasa, Karma and other Hatha Yoga Styles concentrating on the practical, theoretical, and experiential to give you a comprehensive education, and transformational experience.
Though we honor the ancient yoga texts, with all their wisdom and symbolism, this is not a traditional teacher training. There is no dogma. This is not about religion.
You will be on a path of self discovery, learning, growing and transforming. You will let go of anything not essential for your higher good. You will have a new understanding of life.
You will be stronger, more flexible, and healthier in your mind, body and spirit. You will breath better. You will be more loving, and joyful. And you will be empowered beyond anything you have imagined. You will be in a different place, a different time, a different world, and will be exploring different ways of being and thinking. This will be self empowering, and will change your life.
When: March 11th – April 6th, 2013
Where: Bali, Indonesia. When I first arrived in Bali in ’97, before Internet, when there was little beyond Kuta and most of the roads in Ubud other than the Palace and Monkey Forest were not paved, it was and continues to be a love affair. Bali’s lush island eco system, rich cultural heritage & deeply spiritual Hindu population combine to make Bali one of the world’s most enchanting places to visit. The mountains, beaches and rice fields hold mysteries for all to explore. I travel all over the world, and no where do I feel how I feel in Bali. Though Bali has changed a lot, the people and their culture remains a constant, and I continue to feel the Magic, returning for months at a time, year after year.
Bali’s rich culture also includes traditional holistic healing therapies like ‘Jamu’. This healing spirit enhances the energy making if the perfect environment for your immersion into the healing energies of Yoga and Meditation to nurture, heal and expand your consciousness.
Why: To enhance your life. I believe we are our own GURU, ‘Gee you are You’. Yoga and Meditation are the most amazing tools for self discovery, and personal transformation. Whether you plan to teach, or have decided to make an investment in your own health, wellbeing and peace of mind, this is a program (Sabbatical) I feel everyone should partake in at least once in their lifetime. If you are already a teacher this is a chance for your to deepen your practice, and/or give yourself some care taking.
Take your yoga studies to a deeper level with our realistic approach. Develop a personal practice that is grounded. Find happiness in sharing your love for yoga with others. Find your voice as a Yogi. Learn the Sutras and how they relate to life today while taking your personal practice and skills to new heights. Learn to lead Yoga Nidra. Learn to share yoga with everyone! So do join us to discover how you share yoga, by learning what’s come before you, and applying this wisdom to current modern day issues, lifestyle’s and ailments.
Curriculum: This is an intense immersion training. It will be physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually challenging, demanding, enlightening, and uplifting.
We will be working 8-10 hours a day Monday – Saturday and there is a lot of self study (reading). And you will be in mystical Bali which is an amazing place to experience and apply all the principals of yoga you will be learning.
You will have Sundays off to rest, relax, have a massage, shop, read, or experience the beauty of the rice fields, mountains, temples, ceremonies, the sound of gamelan and the other pleasures Bali has to offer.
What to expect: The dynamic and conscious practice of asana is the foundation for this training. You will be exposed to Hatha Yoga using the aspects of Ashtanga, Iyengar and other yoga masters. The asana practice will acess the intelligence and wisdom from each of the postures resulting in a stronger, more flexible body. We will study in-depth the Asana practice focusing on alignment, modifications, prop usage, pose sequencing, and adjusting skills. And we will get into Yoga as a Therapy.
Additionally we will explore the subtle body with Pranayama (breathwork techniques), Meditation (self inquiry, stress reduction, Vipassana), The Chakras (energy work), Mudras (hand symbols), Bandha’s (locks), and Ayurveda, the Science of Life. Along with practical teaching fundamentals, methodology, communication skills, business fundamentals, ethics, philosophy, lifestyle, mantra’s, kirtan’s, anatomy & physiology (physical and energetic), Pre Natal Yoga, and learning about Seva, or Karma Yoga (which you may practice while here if you like.)
