Our Approach to Yoga Our yoga classes,
workshops, retreats and training sessions are designed to improve
your overall health and wellbeing using integrative tools and
techniques that harmonize the mind, body and spirit. We specialize
in the holistic healing systems of Yoga,
Pranayama (breathwork),
Meditation,
The Chakras, (the bodies energy
channels), Ayurveda, and aspects
of Thai
Yoga.
Our classes incorporate elements from the
different Styles of
Hatha Yoga like
Astanga, Iyengar,
Power, Dynamic, Gentle, and Restorative. We do tend to base our
approach more on a Vinyasa, or flow style, which synchronizes breath
with movement. All classes, workshops and retreats are suitable for all
levels, as modifications are given for each asana (posture). The
benefits of yoga are truly
amazing, and extend beyond
the physical.
Stress, depression, worry, impure food and an unhealthy environment
can contribute to the build up of pranic blocks which destroy our
natural vitality and lead to illness. A systematic approach to
Yoga,
utilizing the physical postures (asanas), breath-work
(pranayama)
and meditation techniques, liberate the vital energy of the body and
mind.
