Yoga Bound Travel
Adventures:
Greetings from Bali, Indonesia
After taking a circuitous route from Bangkok, flying
first to K.L. (Kuala Lumper, Malaysia), we arrived in Bali around
8:30 in the evening on June 14th. Though our trip had begun a month
prior, it was only after we got to Bali that we felt a true sense of
relaxation and peace. Thailand is wonderful. And we always enjoy our
time spent there. But there is no place like Bali.
Having made visa arrangements in Bangkok, we
by-passed the normal tourist line and were quickly through
immigration. Our bags were waiting so we retrieved these, flashed
our 'Nothing to Declare' cards to customs, and went to pre-pay for
our taxi which took us, as is our tradition, to Bali Subak on Double
6 road in Legian. This is a nice place to spend a day or two while
making arrangements for lodging suitable for an extended stay.
We picked up our bike the next day. A brand new one,
from our friend Made. Then as luck would have it, we were riding
down the beach and ran into an acquaintance. After exchanging
greetings we said we were looking for lodging and she suggested a
place we had never stayed before. We rode there immediately, but
found they were full. Unusual as this is not high season. However,
it turned out they were building a new place that would be ready
July 1st. We rode to look at it and it was exactly what we wanted.
Where we wanted. Synergy. It is great!
We were at Bali Subak for 8 more days. We spent our
time doing yoga on the rooftop garden. Hanging out at the beach.
Meeting up with friends. Our suppliers. And eating at all of our
favorite restaurants. Daily we were over to our new lodging to see
if there was anyway to move in sooner. They worked on our unit and
we moved in on the 22nd, much earlier than we had expected.
Take a look at our Bali villa!
For years we have been looking for property. This
year is no exception. In the process we have met builders and
architects, and the like. Last Saturday an architect from Australia
invited us to his place. We met a lot of really down to earth people
that had been in Bali for quite some time. I was invited to the BIWA
(Bali Indonesia Women's Association) luncheon held once a month.
Again, synergy at work, as the only meeting of the month was that
Thursday. So I went. And I met a lot of creative women that I would
like to get to know better.
It has been some time since my last newsletter. And
a lot has happened. While I was home from November-April, my yoga
classes continued. And we had many fun, and interesting workshops. I
also organized a yoga retreat to
Costa Rica in April 2006 in response to people wanting something
closer to home. We already have five people signed up. And only need
five more for this to be a reality. If you are interested, we would
love to have you. If you help us promote this, and/or sign anyone
up, you will receive up to 10% off your own trip. It is a win-win.
Yoga Bound
continues to work in progress. Check out our new home page. And last
November I launched a new website,
Sarong Boutique
as our customer base has expanded beyond the yoga community. It is a
wonderful opportunity, and I have had inquiries from many people all
over the U.S. wanting to be a part of this new adventure.
Internet here is quite slow. But I will do my best
to get a newsletter out once a month. I miss you, my friends and
family. My Tuesday and Thursday classes at the Y, as this group of
dedicated yogi's keeps me motivated, and inspired. And my wonderful
customers that support what I do so that I can continue to teach
yoga. Each of you holds a special place in my life. And my heart.
And for this I am thankful. And grateful.
Much love, and blessings to you all.
