Yoga Bound Travel Adventures:
Arriving Bangkok, then off to India
We arrived in Bangkok just after midnight on July
30th. Our first week was spent looking for new products, enjoying
the city, and making our flight, and Visa arrangements for India.
The afternoon of August 6th we left Bangkok for Kolkata (previously
Calcutta). After a 3 hour wait at the Kolkata airport, we were on
our way to Bangalore. It was after midnight when we arrived so we
spent the night.
The next morning we took the 8:45 am express train to Mysore. While
in Mysore we completed yet another month of Yoga training, this time
with B.N.S Iyengar, a master of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga.
We've also spent some of our down time visiting sights around the
area, which were simply amazing. We finally found a few suppliers of
some very unique products we decided to carry. I want to share more
of this tough, wearying, yet awesome experience, and am in the
process of writing some articles. In the meantime check out our
photo galleries.
September 26th, after 7 weeks in Mysore, we left for Bangelore,
arriving by train around 2:00pm. We checked into Hotel Highgate in
the MG Road area then went out exploring. What a nice respite from
Mysore! We found a really incredible music store, and bought quite a
collection of spiritual CD's which we happily previewed late into
the evening.
Five am came to quickly, but we were up with the alarm ready to go
by 4:00. Caught a 6:05 flight to Kolkata with plenty of time to make
our connection (we thought), but nearly missed our flight due to the
most intensive security check we've ever experienced.
We arrived Bangkok around 2:30. I've never thought this before, but
Bangkok was like an oasis after India. No cows roaming the streets,
you could walk without constantly looking to avoid cow pies, the air
felt fresher, and unpolluted, it was quiet with people only honking
their horns sporadically, and the food choices! My taste buds were
tingling. Ah, the joys of travel. I wouldn't give up any of it!
We took in everything Bangkok has to offer, continued our daily yoga
at Queen's Park, met up with friends, got more business done, then
headed for Bali October 3rd. Arriving Bali was like giving a thirsty
man a glass of water. A more inviting place for the mind, body, and
spirit you'd be hard pressed to find. Bali was, is, and continues to
be "PARADISE" in spite of the October 12th bombing.
